With almost 20 years experience in journalism and public relations Martin Farrow MCIPR , the founder of Moorlands Media, offers businesses and other organizations a customized, cost effective public relations service.

Moorlands Media was founded in the Autumn of 2005 by experienced communications professional Martin Farrow.

A member the Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR) Martin started his career as a reporter for the free newspaper Ad News (now known as The Advertiser) in Congleton, Cheshire before moving to the Leek Post and Times.

Following a career break to study Media at Sheffield Hallam University, he returned to North Staffordshire to work as a freelance reporter on titles such as the Staffordshire Sentinel and Focus magazine.

Several years later Martin moved into public relations as an Account Executive for Leek-based agency David Cliffe Associates - with clients such as Leek College, The Hanley Building Society and the Churnet Valley Railway - before returning to Ad News as Editor in 1996.

In 1998 Martin moved back into PR as a Press Officer for Staffordshire University where he was responsible for writing press releases and generating coverage in the national as well as local and regional press.

2001 saw a move to Derbyshire where Martin took up

the position of Representation and PR Manager at Southern Derbyshire Chamber, responsible for a marketing and events team. The role also involved launching and editing the Chamber’s In Business magazine.

Following the merger of Southern Derbyshire and North Derbyshire Chamber he became countywide PR Manager for Derbyshire Chamber and Business Link and, under his supervision, In Business continued its development into the county’s leading business to business publication.

A return to North Staffordshire in 2005, initially as Deputy Editor of Staffordshire Living magazine and Account Manager for Excel Public Relations (both part of the APP Group), led to the eventual creation of Moorlands Media.

This allowed Martin the independence to draw on the very best talent in Staffordshire and Derbyshire to provide cost effective PR and marketing services for businesses of all types and sizes.

Based in Cheddleton near Leek, close to the borders of Staffordshire, Derbyshire and Cheshire, Moorlands Media is already providing a valuable service to a number of businesses across the three counties.
